According to the Feng Shui art and philosophy, achieving prosperity and wealth is associated with the uninterrupted flow of positive energy in the living and working environment. The most important tips on how to use Feng Shui for interior decoration show the main principles and rules of the philosophy.

Feng Shui practices cherish the simple and minimalistic spatial organization so as to complement naturally the preferences and taste of most people. The basics and fundamentals of Feng Shui are quite complicated though, when it comes to interior design and proper arrangement, since it goes quite far. There are rules on how you need to arrange a working space, where to mount mirrors, what kinds of plants can you use in the house or plant in the garden, and many more details. According to Feng Shui everything can affect and influence your life, health and prosperity. This is why Bagua, the Feng Shui map is used. You need to define the eight directions in your house and properly place the suitable objects in the house.

Feng Shui philosophy suggests that there are several important aspects of our lives that might be affected by energy. These are love, creativity, honesty, happiness, health and wealth, career, success, traveling, children, spirituality and much more. According to Feng Shui interior design influences the aura and energy of particular spots and areas. Lighting is very important, because it can affect the vibrations and sounds that reflect the energy flow. Moreover, it refers to living creatures, such as plants or animals, the use of symbols and sacred objects. Gadgets and bells, essences and colors can reflect several different problems or address different issues.

Light is a very important part of the Feng Shui philosophy. All spots in the house should be properly lit, preferably with natural light. Since this is not always possible, artificial light can serve the prupose to a certain extent. Brighter rooms are supposed to be more auspicious and tend to prevent negative energy, while the dark and gloomy ones are usually much more uninviting.

Bedrooms are the focal point of the house. They are supposed to be Yin spots, but it is necessary to place windows allowing natural light and fresh air to come in. Feng Shui bases a lot on the co-existence of the Yin and Yang energies; having too much of both or one of them is not good. The idea is to find a balance among them, otherwise the space will cause irritations and even restlessness. The living or working spaces should be well painted and clean. People should avoid clutter and should get rid of broken or damaged things because this is a simple and easy way to refresh the Chi energy of the house.
